It is a wool obtained directly by shearing live sheep without any washing or processing. It contains high levels of lanolin and dirt. While lanolin can be used in cosmetic products such as hand creams and body lotions, semi-oily wool can be used to create waterproof gloves and gloves used by fishermen. Oily wool can be cleaned in a number of processes using a natural bath process or a more complex chemical carbonization process.
